On Oct. 15th, the integrated wind power manufacturing base of the largest wind power manufacturer in the world---Denmark Vestas Wind Systems A/S was established in the western development zone in Tianjin. It takes up an area of 230,000s.q.m, which covers the manufacturing of nacelle, vane, engine, controlling system, and machinery parts and becomes one of the largest vane manufacturing bases in the world. At present, Vestas has invested more than CNY 2.5 billion in Tianjin Economic Development Zone, which is 70% of its total investment in China.
As one the important wind power equipment manufacturing centers of Vestas in the world, Tianjing Integrated Wind Power Manufacturing Base includes the newly-built controlling system plant and machine processing plant, the expanded engine plant and vane plant, and the logistic center which supplies the inner parts of wind power generator tower. The newly-built controlling system plant which costs CNY 420 million is the first controlling system plant of Vestas outside Europe, which will introduce the key technology and provide localized core parts of high performance wind power generator to the Chinese customer, and mainly machine and treat the important parts received from the global casting plant of Vestas, including nacelle housing, spindle, bearing box, and wheel hub, etc.
As the foreign enterprise which entered Chinese wind power market earliest, the employees of Vestas in China will reach 3,000 until the end of 2009. Mr. An Xincehng, the president of Vestas (China), said,
