These drive shafts are used for utility vehicles, industrial applications, marine applications, special assemblies and motor sports. The test rig exclusively serves for testing and examinations of universal joints (cardan joints) of drive shafts for utility vehicles and trucks, using various test parameters, such as speed, torque, deflection angles and temperatures.

The entire unit is built up following the principle of a distortion test facility. The drive motor is used to induce the power loss, whereas the gears are used to induce the distortion torque. By using this test facility,substantial findings were achieved on how to increase the operating time and useful life of drive shafts.
