Ken Walker Named to Lead EnPro Industries' Compressor Products International Unit

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sep 17, 2013 (BUSINESS WIRE) --EnPro Industries, Inc. (NYSE: NPO) announced today that Kenneth D. Walker, president of the company’s Engineered Products Segment, has been named to the additional role of president, Compressor Products International (CPI). Walker, who was named president of the segment in August, will continue to be responsible for GGB Bearing Technology.

EnPro also announced the resignation from the company of Anthony R. Gioffredi, who had previously served as president of CPI.

Walker, who was most recently president of GGB, joined EnPro in 2001 as vice president, sales and marketing at Plastomer Technologies, a business that is now part of EnPro’s Technetics Group. He was later promoted to vice president and general manager at Plastomer and remained in that role until 2006, when he was named vice president and general manager, GGB Americas. He was subsequently named EnPro’s vice president, continuous improvement, and held that role from 2009 until he was named president of GGB in 2010. Susan E. Sweeney, formerly vice president, Global Operations at GGB, has been named to succeed Walker as GGB’s president and will continue to report to him.

Gioffredi moved to CPI in 2003, when he was named vice president and general manager. Previously, he was vice president, operations at EnPro’s Fairbanks Morse Engine (FME) business. In 2006, he was promoted to president of CPI and given dual responsibility as president of FME, which he retained through August 2013.

“We are pleased that Ken has accepted this expanded role within EnPro,” said Steve Macadam, president and chief executive officer. “He is a capable manager under whose leadership GGB has made operational and commercial improvements that have allowed it to operate very effectively even with the low levels of demand that have characterized its markets for the past several years. I am confident his skills will serve him well as he assumes new responsibilities and as we continue to focus on improving the performance of CPI.

“I also want to acknowledge Tony’s contributions to EnPro,” Macadam continued. “Under his leadership, FME has consistently been one of EnPro’s best performing businesses and CPI has been transformed from a small part of our company seven years ago into a major operation today. As CPI grew through acquisition, Tony worked diligently in the face of unexpectedly weak markets to integrate the acquisitions into a cohesive unit. I’m confident his effort leaves CPI well positioned to reach our long-term objectives for its performance. I thank Tony for his efforts and wish him well in the future.”
