JIMTOF 2006 to be Staged at Tokyo Big Sight in Nov
The 23rd Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF) will start on November 1, 2006 at the "Tokyo Big Sight" - Tokyo International Exhibition Center.
The eight-day long show, jointly organized by Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association and Tokyo Big Sight Inc, will demonstrate state-of-the-art manufacturing process technology by 547 companies and groups. According to the organizer, this is the largest number ever, with an increase in exhibition scale from 45,333 square meters in 2004 to 46,359 square meters for the 2006 event, as of July 31, 2006. In addition, the number of visitors is expected to reeach 130,000, up from 123,000 in 2004.
The theme for JIMTOF2006 is "Mono-zukuri Innovation". Apart from products, the event will also feature seminars and lectures for all levels, exhibits designed especially for the younger generation, and tours of factories, all for the purpose of arousing and raising the interest of the younger generation.
