According to the report from NIKKEI Japan, as the second largest company in bearing industry, Japan NTN Company is planning to establish R&D base in Shanghai, China in 2011 and the investment is predicted to be 1 billion yens. NTN Company plans to cooperate with the local auto enterprises and universities and is dedicated in developing the products which can meet the market demand. The future recruitment for the local technicians will increase to 200 people. The base will become the largest R&D base of the company outside Japan.
It is reported that the company will introduce the testing equipments which are suitable for auto parts, and then will assess and develop the products launched in the local area. During the middle phase, the company will mount the testing equipments which are inclined to the machinery industry such as wind power generator, railway and agricultural machinery, etc; they will adjust the new product launching system that is suitable for the Chinese structure and scale. The company will boost the cooperation with some institutions like Shanghai Jiaotong University and improve the R&D capacity.
