igus maintenance and lubricant-free linear slides and cable management systems take centre stage at Plasa Show Olympia

At this year’s Plasa Show, igus will be demonstrating its innovative bearings, linear slides and cable management systems for the live entertainment technology industry. Returning to the heart of West London at Olympia the show, which runs from 18th - 20th September, is a significant date in the calendar for professionals working with pro audio, lighting, broadcast, AV, rigging and stage technologies. 

On the igus stand (Stand C20) there will be two main demonstrations; the first is the drylin W curved rail system. These rails offer an innovative way of mounting sound and lighting rigs, or displays and control panels – anything that needs to be adjusted regularly. As the aluminium rails can be modified by precision bending, the profile of the curve can be tailored to customer requirements. The use of spherical tribopolymer bearings enables the guide rail system to be self-adjusting, adapting automatically to the radius of the rail making the system run smoothly and quietly. As with all drylin linear guides, these curved rails are self-lubricated and therefore maintenance free. 

The second highlight will be the e-spool cable management system, which enables users to guide many different cables in narrow spaces and allows them to save space thanks to its small footprint. The innovative e-spool is easy to install and flexible, providing no-break connections in any direction for travels up to 14m. For example in theatres, e-spools are becoming the preferred technology for connecting between amplifiers and speakers, virtually eliminating the reliability and quality issues often associated with these types of applications.

Throughout the show, members of the igus team will be available on Stand C20 to take visitors through the benefits and potential applications of their bearing products and cable management systems, as well as provide insight into the full range of igus products suitable for live entertainment technology industry.
