igus expands range of knife-edge rollers for applications such as packaging systems

igus, the tribo-polymer specialist, has added 14 new dimensions to its range of knife-edge rollers, increasing conveyor design and planning flexibility. The plastic knife-edge rollers are suitable for wherever smooth, lubricant-free transfer of transported goods onto downstream conveyors is needed.

Because of their compact design and relatively tight radii, the rollers are suitable for use in food production machines, bottling lines and packaging systems, as well as in point-of-sale units in supermarkets.

The 14 new variants, which encompass a selection of lengths and diameters, are made of igus plastic materials to ensure robust and reliable operation over a range of applications.

Available variants

iglidur P210 — which is extremely resistant to wear and characterised by low-humidity consumption
FDA-compliant iglidur A180 for low to medium loads — suitable for high-humidity applications that come into direct contact with foodstuff and for temperatures up to 90°C
iglidur A350 — which is blue in colour for obvious visibility within food manufacture, for medium-to-high loads and temperatures up to 180°C
