Global Steel Production Down in February

Worldwide crude steel output fell slightly between January and February, but remained above the February 2012 level. However, U.S. steel production declined on both a month-to-month and year-over-year basis.

Global crude steel production inched down from 125 million tons in January to 123 million tons in February, according to the latest report from the World Steel Association (worldsteel). Despite the monthly drop, total steel production for the 63 countries tracked by worldsteel
