GGB Names Canadian Distributor
GGB Bearing Technology, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, a global leader in metal-polymer plain bearings, has named the A.R. Thomson Group, Surrey, BC, as a distributor for its line of prelubricated and self-lubricating product offerings in Canada.
"With its rapidly growing oil and gas production, petrochemical refining and timber harvesting industries, Canada is an exceedingly important market for us," said Ken Walker, GGB's vice president, Americas. "The A.R. Thomson Group has been successfully serving these vital markets for over 40 years."
Established in 1967 as a regional manufacturer and distributor of gaskets and other sealing products, the company produces a wide range of gaskets by forming, machining, CNC laser and knife cutting, stamping and winding operations. It specializes in metal-composite gaskets for heat exchangers, pressure vessels, heaters, pumps, valves and large-diameter flanges. These include solid steel, double-jacketed and spiral wound gaskets of various alloys and filler materials.
In addition to Surrey, the A.R. Thomson Group has manufacturing facilities in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta; and Sarnia, Ontario. The company has sales offices in Parksville, Prince George and Fort St. John, British Columbia; Calgary, Fort McMurray and Grand Prairie, Alberta; Regina, Saskatchewan; Thunder Bay and Mississauga, Ontario; and Point Claire, Quebec.
