GGB extends its range of Powder Metallurgy bearings

GGB Bearing Technology, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, recently extended its range of self-lubricating sintered bronze and iron bearings in the Metafram® series for applications with high sliding speeds which require low friction and resistance to start/stop operating and corrosion.

The company states that these new sintered self lubricating porous bearings are well suited for applications where conventional lubricating is not possible as the porous sintered structures are impregnated with lubricants. The standard bearing materials in the Metafram® sintered bronze series include GGB-BP25TM, GGB-FP20TM and GGB0SO16TM, all of which are available in an assortment of cylindrical bearings and flanged bushes.

Additional materials impregnated with suitable solid lubricants such as MoS2 and PTFE are available for applications with extreme temperatures and higher speeds or loads.

With production plants in the US, Germany, France, Brazil, Slovakia and China, GGB is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-performance self-lubricating and pre-lubricated plain bearings. The company’s plants in Heilbronn, Germany, and Dieuze, France, both marked their 40th anniversaries in 2014, whilst its plant in Sucany, Slovakia, celebrated 10 years in operation.
