After reading the globalEDGE blog series on Latin America, you should now have a good understanding of the various trends in Latin America that are affecting the international business world. We looked at many topics this week including Latin America’s growing middle class and the regulatory environment of the region. To help further your knowledge of Latin America, globalEDGE offers several resources specifically regarding the growing market of Latin America. We will now take a look at some of these useful Latin American resources!
The major trade bloc in Latin America is known as Mercosur, the Common Market of the South. Mercosur is a trade agreement between specific Latin American countries in South America including Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. On globalEDGE, there is an entire section dedicated to this trade bloc where you can find information on its history, statistics, and membership. Links and other resources pertaining to Mercosur are also provided on globalEDGE.
For those of you who enjoy interactive information, globalEDGE has an online course module entitled “Doing Business in Latin America” which helps you understand the business environment in Latin American countries.
