Gamesa Awarded 155 MW Contract For Texas Wind Farm

Spanish wind energy giant Gamesa announced this week that it had been awarded a supply agreement for the supply of 155 MW of wind turbines to a wind farm being developed in Texas by Terna Energy.

Gamesa announced on Tuesday that it will provide Terna Energy, a Greek renewable energy company, with 75 of its G114-2.1 MW turbines amounting to 155 MW, for the development of a wind farm in Texas — though this appears to be a slightly late notification, as this order was obviously made in time to be counted towards Gamesa’s strong third quarter.

Gamesa will deliver and commission the project and supply 5 years’ worth of Operations and Maintenance to the completed wind farm. Delivery of the wind turbines are expected for 2017, with commissioning to be completed by at least the end of the year.

The company took in its largest ever order intake during the third quarter of 1,090 MW — which included this Terna Energy agreement — bringing the year’s order intake up to 3,301 MW.
