Friction Won't Affect Trade with Argentina

Recent anti-dumping investigations will not slow the pace of trade between Argentina and China, Argentina's ambassador said here on Wednesday.

"Despite recent trade friction, bilateral trade prospects will continue to grow," Gustavo A. Martino told China Daily during the 2012 Diplomats Economic Forum in Beijing.

Argentina launched anti-dumping investigations recently against rubber conveyor belts produced in China and Brazil has already completed an investigation of ball bearings and pesticides from China, according to China's Ministry of Commerce.

China's investment in Argentina is "growing fast in areas such as railway, construction, and infrustructure", Martino said. The China Machinery Engineering Corporation is finalizing a five-year railway project worth $3 billion.
