FEIMAFE and QUALIDADE 2007 to Bring Machine Tool Novelties to Brazil
FEIMAFE and QUALIDADE, two major trade fairs for the machine tools sector in Latin America, will bring together key suppliers and buyers at Anhembi Park Exhibition Hall, Sao Paulo, Brazil, from May 21 to 26, 2007.
The 11th FEIMAFE - International Machine Tool and Integrated Manufacturing Systems Trade Fair, and the 9th QUALIDADE - International Quality Control Trade Fair, aim to bring novelties of the machine tools sector to a market that annually generates a turnover of US$861 million in Brazil.
At the last edition FEIMAFE and QUALIDADE gathered together approximately 63,000 buyers from about 40 countries and over 1,300 exhibitors from 31 countries.
Of the US$861 million billed by the sector last year, US$221 million came from exports. According to information from Abimaq - Brazilian Machinery Manufacturers Association, up to June this year, the sector's turnover reached US$429 million, of which US$55 million corresponded to exports. The country that imported most machine tools from Brazil was China, responsible for the purchase of 24% of the total. In second place came the US, with 22%. Also on the list were Mexico (15%), Germany (9%), Turkey (6%), Slovenia (6%) and Argentina (4%).
