Export of Motor Bearings, the Necessity of China Bearing Industry

As a result of the development of motor industry, customers' requirements on product's precision, performance, service-life and diversity has increased day by day. The average bearings no longer met the customers requirments. Bearing with high precision level, low noise and long service life became more and more popular. For example, the quiet bearings and bearings whose noise is under 28dB.

Currently, 80 percent of China made bearings were of middle or low grade. What we should do now is to increase the proportion of high grade bearings. Statistically, the total demand of middle/mini-sized ball bearings had reached 820 million sets in China 2005 and 150 million sets were quiet bearings.

According to the data from the State Trade and Commerce Committee, world total export value of bearings will hit $48 billion and China total export value of bearings will be over $850 million. In 2001, China exported bearings 1.54 billion sets which was worth $681 million. The exported bearings were mainly miniature, small or middle-sized bearings with average level. Average price per unit was $0.44, only 1/5-1/6 of the similar products made by European or American countries. So it's necessary for China bearing industry to increase our bearing grade, focus on the export of high value-added small and middle-sized sealed quiet motor bearings.
