The development of miniature momentum-biased wheel carried out by Professor Yang Ruping from Layout & Architecture Engineering School of Henan University of Science and Technology together with LYC Bearing Institute has received the first prize of 2009 Technology Progess Award of China Machinery Industry Group.
In the project, Professor Yang Ruping has applied the theory of similarities, established the analysis model of the augmentation coefficient of momentum wheel bearing cage. In the project, Professor Yang Ruping has applied the theory of similarities, established the analysis model of the augmentation coefficient of momentum wheel bearing cage, and achieved the test of inherent frequncy of bearing cage which is less than 1g; She confirmed the inherent frequency of each parts of the momentum wheel and the bearing pulse frequency through test and analysis; analyzed the time domain and frequency domain response signal and its change of the service life test of momentum wheel through frequency spectrum analysis method and constituted the momentum wheel diagnosis analysis method, which greatly improved the reliability of momentum wheel.
The momentum wheel developed in this project was successfully applied in the concomitant satellite of Shenzhou VII spacecraft .
