Dana To Assemble Off-Highway Transmissions And Axles In Hungary

Dana Corporation today announced it will begin assembling off-highway axles and transmissions in Gyor, Hungary, in the first quarter of 2006.

The company's new facility in Gyor will initially employ about 50 people in the assembly, testing, painting, and packaging of axles and transmissions for agricultural and construction vehicles. These products will support both European customers and export markets.

"Expanding our manufacturing footprint into countries such as Hungary puts the capability and cost structure in place to support Dana's business growth worldwide," said Dana Chairman and CEO Mike Burns. "Most importantly, such operations strengthen our ability to satisfy our customers' global requirements."

"This particular plant will facilitate the development of a supplier network in Eastern Europe for the benefit of our off-highway customers globally," said Rino Tarolli, president, Heavy Vehicle Technologies and Systems - Europe. "Dana is investing judiciously in product development and product manufacturing to sustain the solid momentum of its off-highway business."

Dana people design and manufacture products for every major vehicle producer in the world. Dana is focused on being an essential partner to automotive, commercial, and off-highway vehicle customers, which collectively produce more than 60 million vehicles every year.
