MIAMISBURG, OH - United Grinding Technologies, Inc. (UGT) announces the introduction of an addition to its Studer line of high-performance universal cylindrical grinders, the S33 1000. The new S33 has even greater capacity between centers - 1000 mm - for longer, complex shaft-type parts, and was designed around the popular S33 (650 mm between centers) that was introduced in late 2003. At IMTS the new S33 1000 will demo its flexibility by going from a "chucked" part to a part "between centers" in less than three minutes - part-to-part.
Modular design for quick setup and changeover, state-of-the-art digital control and drive systems and user-friendly step-by-step programming make the S33 a remarkably flexible solution to a wide variety of internal and external cylindrical grinding applications.
According to Fred Gaegauf, technical director/managing director, Fritz Studer AG (Thun, Switzerland), the S33 machines have been designed to take into account the specific needs of the North American market. Gaegauf, who spent several years working closely with customers in North America, says the new S33 reflects the expressed desire for a machine to address internal and external applications in a single platform. "The level of versatility and flexibility increasingly requested by this important market is significantly and uniquely addressed in design and capabilities of this new machine," Gaegauf says. "The S33 1000 clearly demonstrates our full commitment to tailor products around the explicit requirements of our customers."
Center height is 175 mm. Between-centers grinding length is 1000 mm. OD Wheel size: 500 mm x 80 mm x 203.8 mm. Chuck capacity between centers is 130 kg.
