Cooper Roller Bearings has released a new line of turbine bearings that the company says are 23% to 135% longer-lasting than other split roller bearings on the market.
The company has found that the newly developed 01E and 02E bearings last longer than the previously used Cooper 01 and 02 Series bearings. The new line is interchangeable with the other bearings, although they have significantly higher capacity (29% radially and 16% to 90% axially).
Cooper reportedly invented the split-to-the-shaft bearing to make inspection, maintenance, and replacement easier to perform without disturbing the on-shaft or nearby equipment. The new design utilizes rugged brass cages that make the bearings suitable for underground use.
The Cooper 01E and 02E bearings are available for purchase in bore sizes ranging from 6.5 inches to 12 inches (160 mm to 300 mm).
The United Kingdom-based company has locations in the U.S. and China, which offer several lines of split-to-the-shaft roller bearings, housings, and seals.
