Comer Industries to Open Plant in China
Due to deep-rooted and long-standing presence in China, Italy-based Comer has formed relationships with a network of local suppliers and strategic partners.
The establishment of the Chinese sales subsidiary, Comer (Shanghai) Trading Company Ltd., in November 2006 is the result of a deep-rooted and long-standing presence in China: Italy-based Comer Industries has been forming relationships with a network of local suppliers and strategic partners in this country for more than 20 years. The Comer Industries activities in China started in 1987 with the marketing and purchase of transmissions and semi-finished products of Chinese manufacture and continued with the opening of a representative office in Beijing in 1998.
Comer Industries to Open Plant in China
The aim of Comer's sales subsidiary is to strengthen sales penetration in China while reinforcing its local presence with a dedicated sales organization close to global manufacturers who have established themselves in China. The Shanghai subsidiary, managed by Matteo Storchi, currently employs 15 people.
Comer Industries' presence in China will soon be further developed. Comer (Shaoxing) Manufacturing Ltd., will be set up soon, and a new production plant will be inaugurated in Shaoxing, in the province of Zhejiang, with full operation expected in January 2008. It will manufacture a series of transmissions primarily for the wind energy turbine and agricultural machinery industries. This plant will allow the company to seize Chinese market growth opportunities and to be close to its major world customers, which have decided to move significant portions of their industrial activities to China.
