China Sees Exports of Steel Sheets Up over 200% In First Half

China's output of steel sheets reached 3.5 million tons in the first half of the year, an increase of 54% from a year ago, according to statistics from China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

Exports of steel sheets totaled 956,500 tons, up 54% year on year. Imports totaled 833,800 tons, up 224.44% year on year.

The above figures reveal that the self-sufficiency rate of steel sheets for China has reached 70% or above, representing a turn from heavy dependence on on imports.
