China's CFHI to Set Up World's Largest Casting and Forging Base

China First Heavy Industries (CFHI), a leading plant equipments provider, is reportedly going to start its steel casting and forging base project, which is expected to be the largest one worldwide upon completion.

As planned, the 2.5-year project will be invested with 2.3 billion yuan, and the Chinese government will grant it 250 million yuan as well, which is mainly for reforming production technologies, building workshops covering an area of 84,455 square meters, and buying 206 key equipment units.

Upon completion of the project, CFHI will be able to double its annual production ablity, from 250,000 tons molten steel to 500,000 tons; from 120,000 tons forgings to 240,000 tons; from 30,000 tons steel castings to 60,000.
