Electro erosion is the key bottleneck to restrict the development of wind power, one of clean energies.
According to the introduction of Mr. Zhu Jianfei, the press spokesman CSR Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd., the company successfully developed "self cooling bearing" for 1.5 MW water-cooling double feed wind turbine in plateau area through the researchers' technology study. Combining the new technology of "lap wound rotor", it has solved the bearing "electro erosion" at a stroke and highly improved the reliability of wind power. The experts organized by Economic & Information Commission of Hunan province and Hunan University considered that this is an advanced international new energy technology.
Wind turbine bearing is known to easily cause the damage and breakdown due to electro erosion. Since engine room of the large wind turbine is one hundred meters off the ground, the hardship, high economic cost, and low wind power generating efficiency are all elements to restrict the development of wind power.
