China Machinery Industry Grows Over 18% Year-on-year For 53 Consecutive Months

The machinery industry in China achieved an industrial gross output value of RMB731.4 billion in the first half year, up 31.71% from a year ago, according to statistics from China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF).

This represents that the industry has grown by above 18%, year-on-year, for 53 months in a row.

The industrial added value amounted to RMB731.4 billion in the first half year, up 33.82% year-on-year.

China, following a rise in technology and a change in production from OEM to ODM basis, booked a surplus of US$9.672 billion in the foreign trade of machinery products in the first half year, compared to a trade deficit of US$39.24 in 2003.
