As well as their compact design, the ability of Kaydon Reali-Slim bearings to withstand high temperatures, their vacuum and chemical compatibility and low particulate generation make them suitable for semiconductor manufacturing. Kaydon has produced a dedicated brochure covering these thin section bearings in this sector. This publication and the Reali-Slim range are available in the UK from RA Rodriguez.

The brochure covers the three basic configurations - C type for pure radial loads, A for radial and thrust loading and X for any combination of radial, thrust and moment loading on a single bearing.

All bearings can be customised to reduce torque, outgassing, contamination, corrosion and wear.

The selection of ball, race and cage materials that help improve bearing life and performance are also detailed.

An application worksheet is included for designers to complete for a free customised engineering review and bearing recommendation.
