BMW K 1200 / K 1300 Motorcycle Recall Due to Suspension/front Wheel Bearing Issues

BMW is recalling certain model 2004-2010 K1200 and K1300 motorcycles due to suspension/front wheel bearing issues.

BMW says the following motorcycles are affected due to the recall:

Model / Model Year(s):
K1200 GT / 2004-2010
K1200 R / 2004-2010
K1200 S / 2004-2010
K1300 GT / 2004-2010
K1300 R / 2004-2010
K1300 S / 2004-2010

BMW says the front bearings could be subject to corrosion, which could lead to reduced movement of the link lever. This could affect the handling of the motorcycle, causing the driver to lose control, which may result in a crash.

The number of motorcycles affected has not been reported.

No remedy for this recall has yet been reported. Owners of the F650 GS motorcycles included in this recall may contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or visit safercar.gov.
