Benxi Converter Bearing Steel Reaches International Equivalent Products Level

On Aug10th, 2007, National-level Laboratory and authority departments concerned examined GCr15 bearing steel smelted by using converter by Benxi Iron and Steel Group. After carefully inspection on 14 techlogical indicators like the oxygen contents, mixtures of rolled steel and carbon homogeneity-lacking, they indicated this product reached international level. It also symboled this self-developed hi-tech products were equivalent with world top products--SKF.

Besides Sweden, Japan had been successful in this development. In China, some large-size steel makers tried to smelt this kind of bearing steel by converter, but in vain. Benxi Iron and Steel Group is the only one who succeeded in this field.
