Bearing Industry Layoffs Hit Slovakia

Slowing industrial and automotive sectors around the world are now claiming jobs deep into Slovakia's already-troubled manufacturing sector.

Bearing manufacturers stand out among those making the country's most dramatic work cut cutbacks.

Kinex Bytca has been the hardest hard hit -- laying off more than 200 workers do far.

Also, the INA bearing plant in Kysucke Nove Mesto has laid off at least 250, split between temporary and full-time workers.
