Recently three slag treatment technology, "converter slag autoclave preliminary test", "metallurgical non-ferrous sludge preparation lightweight block" and "metallurgical slag pot new slag polymerization spray coating" research achieve major breakthrough and have good results in practical application. Relevant experts believe that these technologies have positive significance in improving environment and have broad application prospects.
In recent years, with enhancing slag treatment technology, developing green utilization industry and turning waste into treasure as the goal, Baosteel's slag research association actively organizes MCC Baosteel Technology units to carry out slag treatment technology research. Targeted towards Baosteel BOF slag characteristics, MCC Baosteel Technology carries out "converter slag autoclave preliminary test" research. By way of production, learning and research applied research, it effectively solves key technical problems such as steel slag aging low-energy treatment and stable and safe application. It provides technical support for opening up new ways of slag high value-added utilization.
In line with the launching of Baosteel Zhanjiang steel project and turning the non-ferrous sludge generated in the production into treasure, slag research association, in conjunction with MCC Baosteel Technology and Shanghai University carries out "metallurgy non-ferrous sludge preparation lightweight block" research. In practical application test, with the increased incorporation of non-ferrous sludge, foam concrete compressive strength and dry density meet the standard requirements. This product is in trial use in construction lightweight block. The development of the project will effectively promote industrial solid waste's development and application in the field of new energy-saving wall construction material.
Slag pot is the key equipment container in connecting steelmaking slag to slag treatment process. The present slag pot protectants are slurry, which, when gunned to the the slag pot wall protection layer, can not completely eliminate slag pot sticky residue nor protect slag pot service life. It will also affect slag continuous drum processing slag input requirements. For this end, MCC Baosteel Technology targets towards Baosteel Co.,Ltd. steelsmelting mill actuality, applies principle of "similar compatibility" and developes products for hot slag pot wall gunning. Once applied, it can replace the limestone and clay protectants in original process and is much more effective than limestone and clay protectants. After-casting slag slag pot effect display tracking shows that 90% of slag pot can be directly turned. Only 10% of slag pots require light percussion. There is no serious sticky phenomenon. After-casting slag pot shows more obvious effect than electric furnace slag pot.
The successful development of three steel slag processing technologies embodies "waste treatment and application by waste" renewable resource business philosophy and can be applied and promoted in major steel mills. It can contribute to production virtuous cycle, steel slag processing efficiency and production cost control. In addition, "converter slag autoclave preliminary test" and "metallurgical non-ferrous sludge preparation lightweight block" are selected into Baoshan District Science and Technology Commission development fund projects and Baoshan District Science and Technology Commission research and production projects.
