Baosteel Develop High Strength Auto Gear Steel
It is reported that Baosteel Group developed high strength steel for auto gears. This steel enjoy superiorities over other similar domestic products in terms of purity and hardenability.
To meet the requirements in growing auto industry, Baosteel Group began to develop high strength gear steel since last year. Hardenability and purity are major indicator to identify auto gear steel's performance. If these two indicator couldn't be met, the steel might be broken in further processing. The contradictory fact is that the only way to avoid breaking off is to add high alloy elements which is much more costful.
Research staffs of Baosteel proceeding from improving performance/price ratio, carried out instensive research to develop new-type of gear steel. Learning from others experiences in this field and based on Baosteel's own expertise in steel bar production, they finally worked out their unique alloy elements mixture.
Gear steel produced by using the new alloy elements mixture not only have better performance but also enjoy lower cost. Developing of this new steel provide a favourable condition for substitution for imported product.
