In Jun. 26th, Baosteel and Shenhua Group officially sign the strategic cooperation agreement at Baoshan Hotel. Both parties will further intensify the collaboration in steel supply, R & D, etc., giving full play to their advantages respectively and fulfill hand-in-hand and win-win policies. Shenhua Group is the largest and most modernized coal enterprise in China, and the largest coal distributor in the world. Last year, raw coal output of Shenhua Group broke through 400 million ton, and coal sales revenue over RMB 500 million During the Twelfth 5-year plant, Shenhua Group has put forward the development strategy of Scientific Development, Rebuild Shenhua, with economic aggregate doubled in 5 years to establish a first class coal based comprehensive energy enterprise with international competitiveness.
Baosteel and Shenhua have a good cooperation foundation for years. At present, such premium steel as heavy plate, pipe and color-coated sheet produced by Baosteel Co., Ltd. Have been widely used in the construction of Shenhua Ningxia Coal chemical Industry base. Such hi-tech, high value added products as DP, nickel-base alloy produced by Baosteel Special Steel are at the promotion stage in Shenhua Ningxia Coal project. Meanwhile, such products as Baosteel wear resistant steel, high strength steel and Baosteel special steel supercritical high pressure boiler pipe, etc have successfully replaced importation, and widely used in the field of Shenhua Group coal mine machinery and power plant, etc. It is reported that based on the strategic agreement, Baosteel and Shenhua Group will establish comprehensive and stable collaboration in steel supply, and development profound partnership in steel procurement, new product R & D as well as IT cooperation, etc.
At the signing ceremony, leaders from both parties have elaborated that at the leading corporation in steel and coal industry, Baosteel and Shenhua have the common development mission, vision, core value and social responsibilities. When world economy is complex and changeable, and the restructuring of China economy is accelerated, it is crucial for Baosteel and Shenhua to intensify mutual synergy through the strategic collaboration. During the twelfth 5-year plan, Shenhua Group will build a couple of coal chemical project and power plant project. Signing the strategic cooperation agreement, Baosteel's premium steel will have a broader application in Shenhua's extension project construction, providing excellent demonstration effect to enhance the sustainable development of both and collaboration between upstream and downstream sectors. The powerful combination will make contributions for the rapid development of Chinese enterprises in the international arena.
