Shanghai Electric 2013 annual strategic cooperative high-level exchange meeting is held in Shanghai Electric Group Co.,Ltd.. The two sides sign the new round of strategic cooperation agreement and agree that they will adhere to innovation-driven, transformation and development road. Shanghai Electric is an important equipment manufacturing group in China. It has seven listed companies, with core business involving thermal power, nuclear power, elevator, refrigeration compressor and power transmission and distribution. Its thermal power equipment sales, order and production level remains the No. 1 in the world. Since signing strategic cooperation framework agreement in March 2009, Baosteel and Shanghai Electric have carried out extensive cooperation in new product development and marketing and procurement and achieved gratifying results. Last year, Baosteel provided Shanghai Electric with more than 300,000 tons of all kinds of high-quality steel, the varieties involving steel pipe, silicon steel, heavy plate, stainless steel and special steel products.
Baosteel deputy general manager Wang Jing and Shanghai Electric (Group) Corporation vice president Lv Yachen sign the agreement on behalf of both sides respectively. Under the agreement, Baosteel and Shanghai Electric will take strategic cooperation, the pursuit of mutual winning, mutual development, advantage integration, mutual benefit, timely guarantee, information flow, communication convenience as cooperation principle. In steel products sales and mutual supply and joint research and development, it establishes close cooperation mechanism to enhance both sides' system competitiveness and to jointly cope with competition and challenges brought by economic globalization.
At the meeting, the two sides present cooperation progress of the four years and their future plan. During the exchange both sides agree that the current situation in manufacturing industry is grim. Baosteel and Shanghai Electric are respectively raw material supplier and equipment manufacturer. In addition to innovating, improving quality and seeking restructuring and development, they should also help each other, expand the depth and breadth of bilateral cooperation, overcome difficulties and work together to create the future.
Xu Jianguo says that although Baosteel and Shanghai Electric are different industries, they are faced with the same problem. We should clearly see that after winter, the manufacturing industry's spring will come, but next spring is certainly different from this year's. Shanghai Electrical and Baosteel are faced with innovation-driveing transformation and development. He hopes that two two sides can deepen strategic cooperation, establish long-term exchange and learning mechanism in new energy, new industries, finance and technology, business soft power aspects and lay a solid foundation for the future.
In his speech, Xu Lejiang says that Baosteel and Shanghai Electric belongs to the same city and drink water from the same river. As large state-owned enterprises, they are faced with many common problems and establishing long-term exchange and cooperation relationship has positive effect for both sides. He hopes that from the perspective of corporation development strategy, they can expand communication scope and carry out multi-level exchange. At present, China is in rapid development stage. The original development road is no longer available. The weakness of manufacturing sector should make us realistic, have long-term perspective, deepen reform road. Baosteel will help Shanghai Electric overcome sophisticated material manufacture difficulties. It will realize material localization, equipment localization and boost up user confidence in localized equipment and support Shanghai Electric to achieve industry No. 1 position.
