Designed to bridge the gap between conventional ballscrews and precision roller screws, the new family of high load ballscrews from SKF provides attractive, cost-effective and environmentally sound solutions in an extensive range of applications where hydraulic or pneumatic driving systems might previously have been specified. Ideal for use where standard ballscrews have insufficient load carrying capacity, but where the high acceleration and deceleration capabilities of SKF precision roller screws are not needed, High Load ballscrews are available in 10 sizes for use with static loads up to 3320kN. The enhanced load capacity of these innovative and economically priced products is achieved by the use of larger balls than standard ballscrews, combined with high precision shaft and nut assemblies.
Typical applications for the new High Load ballscrews from SKF include tube-bending, lifting and handling machines.
In addition, they are ideal for use in bespoke special-purpose equipment where, compared with the use of hydraulic and pneumatic solutions, they greatly simplify both design and construction.
With the addition of High Load ballscrews to its range, which already includes standard ballscrews and, for the most demanding applications, precision roller screws, SKF now offers electromechanical driving solutions to suit every application.
The need for leak-prone hydraulic driving systems, with their potential for environmental damage, and noisy inconvenient pneumatic driving solutions is, therefore, virtually eliminated.
