Applied Industrial Technologies Receives Platinum Alliance Supplier Award from Vulcan Materials Company

Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT) has earned the prestigious Platinum Alliance Supplier award from Vulcan Materials Company for its excellent service in 2009. This is the second consecutive year Applied has achieved Platinum status, the highest supplier ranking from Vulcan.

The award is determined by Vulcan's annual Plant Managers' survey on Alliance Partner performance. Plant managers and leaders from Vulcan's nine divisions rate suppliers on key operations criteria that include product quality, customer service, technical support, ease of transactions, and value added. "Applied is honored once again to receive the Platinum Alliance Supplier award," said Tom Armold, Vice President - Marketing and Strategic Accounts for Applied. "Our teamwork, communication, commitment, and support continue to make a difference year after year, and we view this award as a source of encouragement for further improvement."

Pete Roberts, Director of Procurement for Vulcan remarked, "We value our strong supplier relationships, and we're happy to recognize Applied for making a strategic impact on our operations."
