Angang Steel Company Successfully Developed Large Section GCr15 Bearing Steel

Recently, the First Steel Plant of Angang Steel Company Limited has successfully developed the large section GCr 15 bearing steel of 150mm and 130mm, which meets each requirement of the customers and now is put into use.

This year the First Steel Plant has ascertained the direction of developing the special steel and adjusting the products structure, taking bearing steel as the breakthrough of the developing special steel products and has signed supplying agreement with Anshan Xinxing Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The tradition now process of manufacturing bearing steel adopts the process of furnace and die casting while the First Steel Plant adopts the process of converter, smelt and continuous cast to manufacture bearing steel. They also compared the impact of the process of converter to continuous casting on product quality with that of furnace to die casting, and constituted the detailed controls parameter and operation method in the manufacturing process, which made the development of bearing steel success. Bearing steel belongs to the high quality special steel, which requires high purity of steel and the inner requirement is extremely strict. The successful development of bearing steel indicates that Angang Steel Company has the capacity to manufacture high quality special steel with converter.
