An auto bearings plant that employs more than 300 people in northern Ohio will shut down around the end of the year

SANDUSKY, Ohio — An auto parts plant that employs more than 300 people in northern Ohio will shut down around the end of the year.

The owners of KBI in Sandusky announced the closing this past week.

The factory makes wheel bearings.

The Sandusky Register (http://bit.ly/1q4dDPn ) reports union leaders say they did everything they could to keep the plant open in recent years.

The plant previously had been operated by Delphi and once employed several thousand workers.
