2008 Export and Import (Jan.-Dec. 2008) of Taiwan Machine Products

Taiwan Machine Products showed a small increase on export and a slight decline on import in USD.

In 2008, the total export value of Taiwan machine equipment has seen a year-on-year growth of 3.2%, reached USD 16.412 billion; the import value of machine equipment decreased slightly by 0.2% compared to the last year, reached USD 17.659 billion.

Although facing such difficulties as global weak demand and instability export market, international market needs a certain amount of Taiwanese machine equipment.

Among of main market export from Taiwan, mainland increased 9.4%, U.S.A increased 1.2%, Japan increased 0.1%, Germany increased 1.3%, Vietnam increased 6.3%, Thailand increased 4.6%, India increased 6%, Malaysia increased 5.3%, Italy decreased 0.4%.

The growth rate of top 10 export market decreased compared to last year, and has declined every month. Customers lose their desire to purchasing, we will face intensified competition on machine market this year.
